Thread: Water storage container

    Default Water storage container

Does anyone know where I can get a water storage container locally? Looking for something between 55-100 gallons.

I've seen a lot of people just use those rubermaid trash cans that you can just pick up from your local hardware store like Lowes or Home Depot...

I'm really looking for something that really isn't an eye sore like that or I'll get a ear full from my wife.

There are a couple of places around town that sell 55g drums that are food rated. You can also check at a farm/ranch supply store like Tractor City. They have several different containers available. I was able to find a plastic one that is normally used for fertilizer and/or pesticide to be mounted on a trailer. They are new so you don't have to worry about any residue in them.

Sorry, it was Tractor Supply not Tractor City.
Here is an example of one of the tanks - http://www.tractorsupply.com/pco-tank-50-gal--2125814

Try www.davethebarrelman.net on Roosevelt rd, that where i got my 65g food grade conitaner from ($25ea). They have all different size. Just take them to the carwash and rinse them real good. Fill it up with water and some vinegar and let it sits there for a couple of days before use.

Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

Anybody had issues with phosphates or other stuff leaching from the container? I know this was a problem with certain
    Brute trash cans.
