Default Has anyone ever installed a body kit?

I picked up a cyber body kit for my 99 galant at a great price last night and i would love to install it myself rather than paying a butt load of money to have it installed. I have worked with fiberglass and stuff before but i just really dont know where to start. Anyone got any pointers?

I can tell you that just because it was made for you car doesnt meen its going to fit. Ive had a few buddies try and do this them selves and end up screwing the panels up by cutting the fiber glass and it not being correct and having to buy all over again.

Remember, Measure, Measure, Measure and measure again a few times before you cut anything.

    Good Luck!

yes save some cash up and pay a professional, i did bodywork for a long time and hated fixing DIY.
it will be worth it in the long run, unless you have the tools laying around to do it. it's very hard to fit it properly

well i took my bumper off looked at it and contacted a proffessional. i have done quite a bit of body work before but never a body kit. I have done fiberglass sub enclosures too. but i think this is over my head. my old boss hooked me up with a guy we did some plumbing work for a year ago and hes gonna give me a good price. only 100 bucks for the install. i just got to wait until after the holidays and take my car out to his shop.

i cant wait to get it installed so i can start on the next step. This car has been sitting in my driveway for about a month now without me driving it. Im planning a complete overhaul. the good news is i got to wait to get it installed so i can prep everything for paint. my wife wants me to sell this thing, she has been telling me for the past year.

thanks, im all excited im getting stuff done to my car and tragedy hits. someone broke into my car, disabled the alarm, stole my battery, my double din tv, my daughters birthday presents, and puched my locks out with a screwdriver, and chipped the paint around the door. i swear some people are a waste of air.
