How old are your bulbs? T5s tend to shift towards the red spectrum that the cyano likes fairly soon.

When I sold my (actually really high quality) T5 fixture and went to all LEDs the red slime disappeared within a week or two.

If the bulbs are older I bet replacing them will help. If your fixture isn't outfitted with fans, add some: overheating makes the bulbs age even faster
