    High Intensity Discharge.

One of the newer technology lights that are grabbing a foot hold in reefs. They use them in car headlights quite a bit.

First, the stock Red Sea Max 130 skimmer is junk. I went to the Tunze 9002 and OMG what a difference. Less power being consumed and a smaller foot print but the best nano skimmer I've ever seen. The change in skimmers alone cured my micro bubble issues. I was so irritated with the micro bubbles when they first started, but they did die down quite a bit after 1 week or so of constant use on the stock skimmer.
