    Default AAA Freight Salvage Experience?

I was googling salvage yards today (didn't find one that will tow so recommendations are welcome) and came across AAA. Apparently the sell discounted bulk groceries intended for restaurants. I'm thinking it might be a good place to pick up a box of steaks, shrimp, etc. Is the food expiring, boxes damaged in shipment.. what's the scoop?

I don't know but it sounds interesting. Let us know what you find.

Not sure Justin. I know there are some places that buy up damaged goods or surplus and resale. When shipping goods if the seal is broken on the container, shipment is late, or too much was ordered the receiver will not accept the shipment. Maybe this is where they get some of their stuff.

I had a friend who worked for a large chicken company and they would estimate how many pieces of what part of the chicken they could flood the market with and profit the most from. Then that left them with other parts they had to sell so they would discount it and sell to surplus buyers.

Yeah, I used to work in food distribution warehouses and they would put a little zip tie on the trailer door. If the zip tie was broken or missing the shipment wasn't accepted. I'm not sure what the did with them since I was on the shipping end. To the best of my knowledge they were thrown away. Heaven knows we did our fare share of smashing up boxes and pallets with our 1/2 ton electric pallet jacks. Of course we were locking up the brakes and sliding across the icy floors Bags would get torn, so maybe the sell off the bags still intact from the case.

It's on Presa, downtown, so I will probably swing by some time this week and scope it out.
