Large fish tanks and center bracing

Who can make house calls to repair glass center bracing that fell down?

Need clamps and knowledge and experience from somebody whom has done this.

The alternative is to drain water and take it to be repaired.

Thats 2000 lbs of water or 1 ton that has to be moved including livestock, sand, and lr.

Honestly even if you repair it, there is still a good chance it will fall off again. when you do the repair, you will need to drain out a lot of water to relieve the pressure to clamp and re-glue

We had a center brace failure about 18 months ago.
We bought two clamps like the ones listed here - http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=5334
Use a 3-4 foot 2x4 on both sides (front & back) of the tank so the clamps would not have direct pressure on the glass. Also, do not tighten clamps to much, just maybe a half turn after you have made contact on both sides.
Keep your pumps running and possibly run an air stone.

We did end up fixing it ourselves but did not trust our work on a 240gal tank and ended up selling the tank. I would ask someone who has done this before and have them re-silicone your center brace.

Also, what size of tank is this? Dimensions?

This tank is a beautiful 180rr. 6ft long x 2ft wide and 2ft tall. I hope I can fix otherwise I need to drain and move everything. Lot of work.

I would like to thank everybody who pmed and offered assitance.
But I have decided to get everything out and move the tank and have it repaired or upgrade the center brace.
I do not want this happening again. I have 2 other tanks I can utilize while I get the repairs done.

I think even though it's a pain now you'll feel much safer afterwards. I didn't want to rain on your parade so I didn't post earlier but after having a 125 gallon tank burst in my house I can tell you that moving all of it out on your own time is a whole lot easier than jumping out of bed and throwing everything into a tub in the middle of the night.
