Default Do we not have the power to choose??

I went to http://www.powertochoose.com/_conten...howoffers.aspx to look for different electric companies around the SA area. We just moved in to town from Abilene where you can pick the best rate. Can you not choose your electric company in SA?

CPS with no choice around $.10 a KWH, Austn with a choice much higher. I thought somewhere in the $.15 a KWH? GVEC and other COOPs around here are cheaper. The problem is Natural gas is expensive. Coal and Nuclear is much cheaper. Most companies that give you a choice are private companies and must pay taxes. CPS only has to pay San Antonio. Example Bank versus Credit Union. What where you paying in Abilene?

Before we moved to our house last year, it was about $0.08. Our house we bought was in a co-op.

CPS is a municipally owned utility - and deregulation therefore does not apply here. We have some of the cheapest rates in the country.

$0.10 is not bad at all. I just know other places you can lock in at $0.7 for 12 months. I just didn't know deregulation didn't apply here as Bill said. My wife lived here for eight years before I took her away to Abilene two years ago. She told me CPS was the only one but I didn't want to believe her haha. That's another win for her!!! Oh well, I was just asking. Thanks for the information.
