Default WTB Seed for new tank. College Station or San Antonio

I need a small piece of established live rock/sand or something with plenty of bacteria on it to get my tank started.
I would prefer it be from a tank that does not have nuisance algae or other pests.

I am in college station, but I can drive to SA this weekend if needed.

I will also be interested in some red graci macro, CUC, and a kole tang in a few weeks or so.

    please let me know. thanks

    Tim,
Plenty of options available to you that can save you a trip all the way down to SA (at least until you are ready to start stocking). I have always kicked off my cycle with a cocktail shrimp. I leave it in there for a couple of days. Long enough to get the cycle started with an ammonia spike and for the shrimp to get covered in a film. Take it out and start testing until everything reads what it should. I'd test daily so I would see as levels would drop off.

Or you can make a pitstop in Austin and pick up some rock or sand from a member there or a LFS. We have several members on here that are from Austin and Round Rock area.

Welcome to MAAST and good luck with your new tank....and remember we encourage pictures here ;)

Haha, yeah I know but if I am going to drive somewhere, I might as well go home and say hi to the family.

Thanks for the welcome. I have been meaning to post a build thread, but I have just not had the time. Hopefully I will this weekend along with plenty of (crappy iphone) pictures. My system is a bigA stock tank that takes up a third of my bedroom.

Tim, we could probably throw you a piece of live rock that has been seeded in one of our tanks. It would have to be Saturday late morning or afternoon. We live off of Huebner / Fredericksburg area near USAA. PM me if this area and time frame work out for your schedule and I'll send you more info.

Add to Kristy's post, we could give you a cup of sand also. We are also going to the meeting in Austin on Sunday, so could meet you there.
