    Default propegating anemones

    how do i get my anemone to split?
    46 freshwater for wife
    75 Reef tank
    1 20g and 2 40g clowns and yellow headed jaw fish and 1 10g breeding set up
    Need starter phyto and rotifer cultures let me know if you got them.

    I think they do it on their own?

    But my RBTA went under the rock split and no they're both behind all the rock and I can't see them):

    Cut them down the middle with equal mouth halves on each side.

    Having had 20+ splits on my RBTA:

    I've tried the "cut it in half" thing. This DOES work most of the time, IF you don't beat up the anemone getting it out of the tank. That's usually the problem - they are very difficult to remove from rock.

    When mine split, it's usually after an environmental change: like a big water change.

    I always heard that if feed well then wait a day and do large water change, it will cause some anemones to split.

    Slicing an animal in half just seems cruel to me.

    How long after the cut do they heal up?

    Whatndo you cut them with?
