i hate to be the guy that says it, but that looks alot like aptasia, not such a big deal if you are keeping strictly fish, but no good in a reef.

Maybe a type of majano? The stalk looks thick for an aiptasia. Neither are good... but personally I'd rather deal with majanos.

But... a little off center and down a bit... that might be an aiptasia...

Don't panic, it's manageable and just part of the process.

Erik, good guess on the spaghetti worm! That matches the description pretty well. I hate those things. They're gross. Harmless, but gross.

If it's not a terrible infestation, just try the aiptasia X type products you can buy at LFS. Sometimes it can take a few tries to get one killed, and sometimes other babies sprout up, so just keep an eye out for them.
There's a nudibranch that eats aiptasia, some people here have tried them, but they may not be necessary in your case.

If it's majanos, the work is more tedious, but more likely to yield immediate results as well, without the little things creeping back up on you later. I used the technique described at Melev's Reef here:

if they are on rock that has no coral on it, and you can pull the rock easily, take a blowtorch to them. very effective, and it cooks all the planulae.
