i would bet the angel is picking on it during the day.
What other corals do you have in the tank?
Frogspawn do not like a lot of flow, hide it behind a rock structure.
Frogspawn is usualy safe from most angels but I have had to get rid of one because he picked on mine.
With angels you are safe with most softies and SPS, LPS are normally picked on by large angels.
Could also be a lighting issue compiled with stress - the fact that it didn't come out unless the tank was dark in the begining is an indication of light issues. The coral may not have been healty to begin with...course it probably looked fine when you purchased it right?

Yea it looked good to me when i got it... I'm gonna try moving it away from some of the current and a lil lower in the tank away from the lighting. right now its up top, may be too much.....? The only other corals i have are a couple of kenya trees and a very small frag of some green star polyps.
I keep my like corals in the sand on the bottom. I have a biocube, so there is like 22" between the power compacts and the sandbed. I have a moderate amount of flow for my tank, basically gently whooshing the tentacles around (Hydor flo deflector). Mine seems to be doing brilliantly. You can try to target feed the coral. It might like that. Alternatively, you could trade him to someone to see if they can't get him healthy for ya.
29g BioCube, soon to be modded to the be-Jesus!!

that would be an idea if someone would be willing to do so.... I'm still new to the corals n such. i've read that the frogspawn were relatively easy to keep unless i got one that wasnt doing so well....
