    Default Bow fronts and Wavemakers

Hey guys, would it be dangerous to use a wavemaker in a bowfront, especially in a large tank? Seems like the water moving along the flat back would be able to make a faster trip back and forth than the water moving along the curved front, which should take more time. Perhaps a vortex effect would be created? Think of air flowing across an airplane wing. Same principle.

I don't know about 'safety' or your airplane concept..

but the wave maker isn't necesarily flowing against a flat back wall. Rock work gets in the way. And in my case, an overflow box as well. It definitely creates unique flow spots, but so does any particular arrangement of power heads and live rock.

What size bow have you decided on?

There is an actual concept created about a circular flow pattern in reef tanks using powerheads although I can't recall the name of the person... Don't really know how it would pertain in a bowfront though.

I was really hoping for a standard 155. After whipping out the old tape measure last night, however, I realize I only have 65" of wall space to work with, not the 72" that tank would require. I'm wanting glass, so i'm thinking my choices are now severely limited.
