I used to blame the phone, but really it is the driver. I think it's just that so many people are on the phone in the car now days so we blame the phone. From first hand experience riding motorcycles: It's not the phone, it's the moron not checking the blind spots. I imagine car radios were blamed a lot for bad driving back in the wild west days : P

Can't totaly blame cell phones for this one. Most people driving cars are not looking for bikes when they change lanes or even taking off at 4 way stop sign. Back when I rode a bike (rotary phone days) I would come to a stop look over at the person in the car and if I did not get eye contact I stayed put, because it was like they where looking right pass me and just take off.

In a way u can. When they swap lanes without a blinker cause there hand is holding there cell phone. And if they did bother to look, they would see I was there.

And I got tired of looking at other drivers trying to make eye contact....... It's got so bad I might just give up riding eventually. Might just save it for track days where you don't have to worry about that kind of stuff.
