This is just plain sick! Just got a Droid 2. The compiled list from here and a few others:

A online radio ( very nice once you find a station you like )
Advance Task Killer: will close any app running that hogs up your processing power and battery life.
AK 47 ( when ever some one gets out of line you can bust a few caps on them )
Android banking for my chase account
Armored Strike; turn based tank game. free and full version
Astro File manager: File manager easy to use.
    Barcode Scanner
Bubble - a very cool level app.
    budget droid
Cardio Trainer - Allows you to record your work out via a GPS signal (whether it is walking, running, bicycling, etc.), shows your route and gives information depending on what stats you are looking for. You can save each workout and compare to previous workouts and it sends it to a website for you to track. I love it for running. Uses GPS to track how far you've gone and stuff like you average speed and calories burned.
    Chompsms
color flash light ( allows you to have light dinners any were )
    Compass - just that
    Es file explorer
    ESVBible - access scriptures easily
flash light (when walking around in the dark its lights everything up)
    Free wireless tether
    frozen bubble
funny jokes ( always need a good laugh)
    gas buddy
    Gmail (duh!)
    Google Sky
Google Sky Maps - browse the solar system by pointing your phone...pretty crazy!
GPS Tracker - lets people know where your phone is - kind of cool, but intrusive.
IHEartRadio: Any radio station by clearchannel
    jeweled
Key Ring - kind of clunky but cool tool when it works to scan your club cards like CVS Pharmacy
Layar (kinda of like sky map but finds nearby restaurants)
Live Bible - All versions of the Bible and in several different languages - provides daily proverbs
Mabilo ringtones: Alot of free ringtones
    Metal Detector (and it works...)
Mobile Notes - nice task system for personal notes
    MotoTorch
music search ( you can get 50 free songs)
MySpeed... put the phone on my dash and I had a working speedometer again. MPH.
New Horizons (Jack would love this - an airplane compass)
Offiviewer - to view pdf files
    Pandora
pdanet (goodbye air card and monthly charge) – trial, then pay but cheaper than a monthly fee.
    Places directory
    Restaurant Search
Ringdroid: easy way to assign ringtones to your phone
Robo Defense: Defend your city from swarms of enemy's. Free and full version
Shazam - if a song is playing and you want to know the song/artist, hold it up and it will find it
ShopSavvy - use the phone's camera to scan barcodes to find better deals Shop Savy has saved me hundreds of dollars.
    SiriusXm(needs a subscription)
Sports Tap - Scores / News of all sports including (for your Rob) Soccer.
    Sprint Navigation
    Tanagrams Lite
Tapatalk - great for checking MAAST or any other forum you may be active on
    Tapatalk pro
The Weather Channel (Not Weather Bug :( )
TideApp - gives you the daily tides in the ports of your choice
    Titanium backup
    Toddler Lock
useless facts ( when your board its great to find out useless stuff )
    Various rss feeds
    Weather bug pro
    Weather Channel
Weather Eye - Directs you to weather.com
    Weird Facts
    Pandora (music)
Word Feud (scrabble) - Justahobby is my screen name, play me!
    Daily Bible
    Dictionary
    Aldiko (free books)
Drink Malk (catalog w/ every book imaginable added to aldiko. PM me and I will send you the directions)
GTunes (mp3 songs free, huge selection)
Ring Tone (let's you edit the ringtones too!)
    ProjectINF (multiplayer shooting game)
    Science Mobile
    Angry Birds
    Animal Planet
    Youtube

Y'all lost me on the tethering discussion, but that's ok.

The Droid2 has the flash for the camera right? If so you can use MotoTorch for the flash light.

I like it. You can use it as a steady light or strobe. You can even type stuff in and it will send it out in morse code. LOL

I just got the Motorola droidx about a week ago - upgraded from the HTC droid eris. Of course none of the apps will transfer over from my old phone.

Just found another one - google goggles. You take a picture of something and google will automatically search for related stuff about it.
