Thanks Karin and tonyydeee...every month the black deepens and spreads. The black has recently started to close in on the last section that is mainly orange nearest the tail. I expect/suspect that in the next year that section will also be completely black.

Anyways....I love these clowns. I was a big fan of the Rod's Reef Onyx clowns and was very sad to let my pair go but I think this lineage from GC Reef has proven to be of collector quality.

I don't think there could be a more perfect SEGWAY, Mr Cob! Our new batch of GCR Onyx Clowns will be ready to take home on Halloween, October 31st!!!!

And, congrats on the success of your clowns!

Thanks, Michael! Just curious if any are left from the first batch?

No, we sold the entire first group, but their are many brothers and sisters around Corpus Christi, and we sold like 30 to a group in Colorado!

Man that's great news and I'm glad to hear it! I'll be looking for a picasso pair in the near future....breeding them yet?

FWIw, the parent lost color and did not look like Onyx when they were hosted by a BTA. They also lost color with one of my Magnifica but when they are with my other anemones another Magnifica, Haddoni or Gigantea Carpet, H. crispa or H. malu, or like now when they have no host, they are fully Onyx in coloration.

Minh, I'm assuming you are talking about the breeder pair (parents)...? I'm very curious to see how the other offspring are doing from GC Reef (the brothers and sisters of mine).

Mine have hosted with a RBTA for the majority of their time with me... 7+ months and the black has continued to increase and never decrease. For the last month they have been hosting with a frogspawn and I have not noticed any changes.

The parents are mine originally I got from Rod's Reef around 2007, on loan to GCReef to breed. I got 4 babies from this pair all are fully Onyx.
