Thread: 75G Build

    Default 75G Build

Well all the "stuff" came in, so we built our 75G tank this weekend. The build was family project and went great, a side from a noise issue (see other thread). I tried to take photos along the way, but everyone was pretty excited, to stop for photo ops was quickly forgotten.

The tank it self, after clean up.

There are 8 T5s here, 4 marked Actinic the other 4 white not sure of the details here.

Install the GFI plugs for the power strips.

Wanted to make sure nothing woudl burn down the house, boring I know.

    Rocks from ReefCleaners.org

The rocks were awesome, very porous, great ledge pieces. Thanks to everyone that pointed me in that direction. The bottle there is poor attempt at size reference.

    The Aquascape

Designed by very own team of designers. :-)

Continued in next post (I can't attach more photos)...

1 of 3 runs for RO water from WalMart, with the help of my lovely assistants.

Some plumbing and the sump/Reufium is installed

Also know as the place the "bad fish" go for time outs.

The finished product, waiting for cycling.

I have some regular CF lighting to be used during cycling, figure I'd save the T5 setup for when it really needed.

That's it for now, this was a lot of fun for us. Fish coming some time after Thanks giving!

Hopefully I can get help figuring out the noise issue soon.

Yes it's Florida Reef Rock from ReefCleaners. Awesome rock very porous, lots of nooks and crannies. I ordered 75lbs for $137. I emailed John, the owner, and told him that this was my first tank and that I did not know what I wanted but would like some ledges and arches. He sent this rock and threw in and extra 5lbs to make up for any breakage. There was some breakage, but I just put most of it into my refugium.
