He makes it sound like he got the 800g for free, if thats the case he is one lucky man.

The system itself is amazing, well done.

Im not a SPS fan, but I have to appreciate the system. The size of the aquarium, the lighting, and filtration. For SPS to look that good hes doing something right.

Not everyday you see a reef tank over 300gallons.

Some things that might help you appreciate it a little more:

    • it's a 800g REEF! Wowsers!
    • 14feet long!
    • 3 feet front to back
    • 9 MH bulbs used to light this reef of which 4 are 1000 watt and 5 are 400 watt
    • has a Hawaiian Black Tang
    • everything is quarantined and dipped prior to being added to the system
    • has 3 x 150 gallon sumps
    • 1 200 gallon refugium
    • tons of anthias of varrying types including Borbonius
    • and HUGE colonies, most of us can only dream of being able to see our colonies grow so large
    Hope that helps a bit.

My original excitement of this tank was the size. Not many of us have the means to pull off a 800gallon reef.

Karin it is a guy thing like why buy a wimpy 1/2 ton truck with a 6 cylinder when you can get a 1 ton with a 400 hp diesel. Remember Tim the tool man Taylor? Wow Ho, OGH OGH and what ever else he said. We know we can't afford it but it is nice to look at.
