How lucky am I
Last week I moved my mandarin fish from a 90 gallon tank with 100lbs of liverock, to a 60 gallon tank with 60lbs of lr. The 60 gallon also has a holy terror of a six line wrasse. It's killed and starved a lot of cool fish because it's so agressive towards them.
The other night, I find the mandarin and sixline locked together. The sixline tried to take a bit of the mandarin and became stuck. Then the toxic skin of the mandarin did it's job and finished off the wrasse. Now the pygmy hawk, yellow watchman goby, and the mandarin swim around the tank instead of hiding under rocks all the time.
Then, I was feeding the tank on Saturday and witnessed the mandarin fish eating frozen mysis and brine shrimp. I've never had to train this fish to eat this way.
Wow, so now I got rid of a fish I've been trying to remove for months, and now I don't have to worry about the mandarin fish starving in the smaller tank. How cool is that?
