Got to visit GCReef this weekend

I went to the coast last weekend with my family. I set GCReef on the GPS on the way there, since I was driving they were taken hostage and forced to go with me.

My dad was excited about the detour, at least, and insisted on buying me a fish. Mom isn't really into the fishy stuff, but even she enjoyed it when she saw the nursery tanks. So many cute babies! I fell in love with that black tang, what a spunky little thing. He's got so much personality, too bad he's still a little camera shy.

The black tang would be asking a bit much as an impulse gift, so I settled on a baby blue hippo tang. I miss having a tang's personality in my tank, but they're usually too big for me to feel comfortable with them in a 90. This little guy is so itty bitty I can enjoy him for a few years before getting him a new home.

I was really impressed with GCReef. Everything was so clean, the selection was great, prices were clearly marked, the staff (sorry didn't catch her name!) was very helpful without being overbearing. Whenever I'm in town, I'll be sure to stop in.

If the employee who owns the 10g up front ever wants to cut a piece off that green finger leather, let me know. ;)

i love shopping there when im in town, at the maast trip they even double bagged and took extra mile so they would make the trip back. also all coral i bought was dipped before being bagged. just wish i could catch mike when i go, hes a hoot to talk to.

I know the little bitty baby blue hippo you got, we had two of them, they are really cute!!!

Anyways, I am sure Naomi took great care of you, please come again soon!

I stopped in Sunday to pick stuff out and Monday to pick it up. I got the nuclear greens for my honey, a toadstool for me, and my dad jumped in to get his little girl a tang.
I mooned over the black tang and cried over not having my sailfin anymore so much that he wanted to get me a little one, so the baby hippo was my best option. Naomi was great about helping me decide if it would work in my tank. She even went out of her way to look up my bellus angel. Everyone is getting along splendid; though little Elvis (the hippo) seems to be a little freaked out, no one is bothering him. I was worried about the bellus, but she's totally unconcerned with his presence.
