Coast trip

I'm going to the coast this weekend.

Is it even worth looking to collect anything this time of year?

If so, where? I've never done this sort of thing, I'm totally clueless. Any instructions or tips? Exact coordinates for the GPS would be helpful.

I'd like to try to see GCReef in person. Anything else I should check out if I have the time?

I'll be at Port Aransas. I'm looking for some peppermint shrimp. And maybe a prawn.

You might be able to find some pepps still, the biggest problem right now is the visibility. I was out there last weekend and the water was like chocolate milk. As far as other stuff to do, if you have time I think its always fun to go and check out the Texas State Aquarium, its only $12 for adults and they have some pretty neat stuff to see.

On things to do...we were there in June and took a 10 minute jetty boat ride to St. Jo Island and had a blast. It is about 28 miles long and 2 miles wide at the widest point. The water was crystal clear...which was complete opposite from what it was on the Port A side. The only thing is that there is no shade, restrooms etc. We took a pop up shade, food and drinks. You can also rent a cart for $10 to carry all your stuff in. Tons of sunscreen is a must
The dolphin tour was also pretty neat.
