Default Looking for a mat of some sort...any suggestions?

Looking to put a mat of some sort in my stand to put the sump on since I do not have a bottom to my stand.

It will be for my 55g that I'm setting up.

Any suggestions? Perhaps Home Depot/Lowes sells something?

Note: I do not want to close in the stand with wood because the stand fits over the custom made sump. Yes....this defies "Murphy's Law" but adding a floor to the stand would defy it even more.

    What... no carpet?

What about a layer of egg crate with a piece of styofoam on top of it for cushion / noise control?

This might allow for the inevitable when the water gets trapped beneath.

If you are looking to just put a mat down to protect the floor of your home you can get a rubber door mat or 2 from the store. I had the same issue and just used starboard to cover the floor in my stand. That way the sump was on the floor of my house but the floor was protected.

Yeah...we just had the carpet pulled up and new floors down so I want to protect the floors from salt creep and water.

Something with a small lip/rim wouold be perfect but probably not likely to find anything with my dimensions unless I make it.

At Home Depot or Lowes they have a rubber floor mat with holes that links together in sections I've cut it to size and works perfectly. The rubber cushions and absorbs any vibrations while the large holes allow for any condensation or spilt water to dry plus you can see if its leaking or not. I know home depot carries them and i've used it on various tanks in the past.

I might even add a plastic under it or flat rubber mat of some sort to work with the holes to keep anything from touching the floors. Thanks.
