I would say 15 minutes tops. I just feed, make sure all fish and coral are polyped out then just enjoy the view.
Weekends I just fill up ato, clean skimmer cup and do a 10 gallon water change. About 30 minutes there give or take.

Reefing made easy...
Having a experienced reefer help you through the first few months makes all the difference in the world. Their knowledge can save you hours and hours of research, lots heartache, and tons of money. If only more people sought out the willing assistance of the members of this group, we would many more people still in the hobby. To the newbies out there: The people who participate on this website are eager and more than willing (most of the time) to assist you. Take advantage of it.
Btw it can really help alot of times to have somebody actually look at your setup, rather just describing the problem.

Automate everything! All I HAVE to do each day is feed and verify everything is working the way it should.
I get up early on purpose to sit in front of the tank and stare! Includes a few seconds for feeding.
I come home from work and stare some more! Includes a few more seconds for feeding.
I drink my coffee on Saturday morning while I continue to stare. Then I start pumping the water out, then in, test water, et. al.
If I'm busy, the Saturday ritual can wait a week.
If something doesn't feel right throughout the week, I spend my stare time troubleshooting, testing water, et. al.
I also tinker! But that is because it is fun to do (most the time - I really hate installing new equipment but love getting it)!
BUT!!!
Then there are those days when..... return pump, multiple current pumps, and skimmer pumps need a good soaking and scrubbing. Skimmer bodies and hoses cleaned. Light reflectors and glass wiped down. Sump cleanout. Coral moving, mounting and fragging (if you are into that kind of stuff lol who's not?). Aiptasia killing and weed pulling. It's all worth it in the end when you have a reef in your living room. And no one mentioned reef store hopping but that's a bit of a tangent... not?
i would say on avg i spent about 10-20 minutes every few months to work on my tank. now i have removed that burden and i spend no time. no tank is awesome but that is just my opinion

Why must stupid people infest the world?
I mess with my tank everyday. It may only be for a minute or two, to check skimmer, ato, reators, etc. Most days I will check all my equipment and clean the glass. I like to clean the glass everyday that way it's always quick and easy. Then once a week I will spend a hour or so changing water and cleaning off the rock/bare bottom. Feeding is simple for me, I feed flake food about two times a day and frozen about 3 times a week. Then for coral I use coral frenzy and aqua vitro fuel every other day. I guess it seems like alot, but most can be done while looking at my coral.
