    Default reference thread: beginner lps

this will be a running list of the corals we (maast members) believe are good beginner lps corals.

if you would like to add a coral to this list, please post it here along with why (personal experience) it should be included.

other things that would be helpful:

    pics
how long have you had it?
    what are its food/light requirements?
what other organisms is it compatible/incompatible with?
anything else you can think of

yeah a little expensive but i honestly think acans are the easiest lps coral to keep and the most maintenance free. i have had acans for several years now, this acan is 4 months old at the most and i bought in online. they survive with low light and low flow. routine water changes will give it the food it needs and you can also feed it like you feed your fish. they dont play nice if you lean them up against another type of coral but you can lean them up against another acan colony with no problem. they grow pretty fast and come in awesome colors.

this is 4 months ago (the add i bought it from)

This is how it looks now 4 months later with normal light (400w 12k and blue plus t5s)

    Hollywood stunner chalice
how long have you had it? 2-3 weeks
what are its food/light requirements? I personally don't target feed. I have it under LEDs
what other organisms is it compatible/incompatible with? I have it close to a purple with green tip yuma
anything else you can think of? I have moderate+ flow on it and is about mid way in my 14 gallon biocube.
I believe this is an easy starter LPS hope others agree.
