Anyone with a tank large enough to use this probably drops $700 into it on a regular basis. And the battery backup could save thousands of dollars worth of stock! I'm glad my tank is happy with it's MP40.
It has saved my tank a few times when I was out of town and had the hubby sitting the tank. One time was a long power failure, and the other time he didn't realize the circuit that the pumps were on had tripped. He saw the flashing light on the controller, but didn't know what it meant. I got home a few days later to discover it had been runnin' on battery for a few days.
Every time we do a water change we test ours... unplug the Vortech power cord and watch as it switches over to battery power. Gives considerable peace of mind to see it kick in!
