    Default Blue Xenia

I've finally found a piece of blue Xenia. (Thank you JT,and Pollys Pet Store) Do any of you guys have any first hand experience that you could share about this coral? I always thought this was a gimic coral, that was just Elongata photographed under superactinic light. I was wrong, this coral is really blue/purple!!!!

Not sure yet.... I put them in the tank last night at 9:00, they have just started to open up this morning. They don't seem to grow like Pompom or Elongata, They grow more like zoos. Individual stalks out of a flesh encrusting base.

I had a rock with blue xenia a while back. They were small and like you said grew more like zoas.
Unfortunately they did not do well for me at this time. But very pretty. Like blue green star polyps almost (size wise)

Were you keeping other types of Xenia at this time, or was this a starter coral in a new system?

it's been awhile. I think it was my first xenia in that tank. Subsequent xenias in the same tank did well.

These were the kind I had. They stayed very small and more of an encrusting sort of thing:

I will post a pic in a few days when it opens up to its natural glory....... Or not if it dies.
