I hadn't heard of this product, so I looked it up. Almost spit coffee out of my nose!

When I was MUCH younger and worked in a LFS in the 70s, we had a local Chemistry Professor who made salt in our warehouse (it was a huge store). He'd gotten is PhD in analysis of sea water (he went all of the world for samples)

There were only 2 salt products on the market at that time, IO, and his "Seven Seas Salt". He also wrote the Saltwater column for TFH then (Tropical Fish Hobbiest - THE fish magazine for years). He had ALWAYS said that it was extremely difficult to keep the trace elements well mixed in the salt batches, and based this on testing of batches of salt he made, and of IO.

His solution was that Seven Seas Salt came in 2 parts: dry and liquid. You mixed them together when you made up salt water.

I just got the new Advanced Aquarist book (won it through a Facebook Giveaway from AA ) and they had a couple of articles on it in it.

Price should be around the same as Tropic Marin or Seachem. Sounds like a really good salt.

Oh and I hope your professor is still alive. Bet he'd feel vindicated known he was right all along. ;)

    Thanks for checking JT!
Yes, it's a boxed kit with two dry parts and two bottles.
Spoke to one of our sponsors too and he says the wholesale sources for this area don't carry it yet but once they start having it available he'll get some.
    I'd love to try some...
