Nice planted tanks! You do not see african rift lake cichlids with plants that often, but it looks good.

I like the 55gal cichlid tank....I love my salt tanks, but miss when I had my 100gal setup for my cichlids. Had approximately 42 occupants(all lake malawi) I bought from Gabe's Fish. He probably got tired of me constantly asking about "this cichlid" and "that cichlid" lol. I've been going back and forth over doing another Cichlid setup. maybe even a shallow tank squared...

I remember when I first got into cichlids. I had all the occupants happy and started seeing people post about aquascaping. I went out and bought 120.00 worth of assorted plants, grass, whatever. Needless to say, within a day I figured out cichlids love salad, lol, and not to have a plant end small eoungh to fit their mouth in one bit. I was destined to have sword plants forever, lol.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

The cichlids are hard on the plants, I just try to overwhelm them with a variety to bite so the plants have a fighting chance...kind of like overstocking for aggression, only the plant version.

Sword plants were always successful for me
