who owns a bully breed?
American Bulldog,Staffordshire Bull Terrier,American Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Pitbull Terrier.
I am soo tired of seeing on tv how bad these breeds are. people dont even know the difference between the breed. it looks like a pitbull soo its a pit. alot of people are just ignorant to the fact that its not the breed its the owner. I own a staffordshire bull and an american pitbull terrier. between me and my wife we have owned alot of bully breeds and our dogs would have never attacked anyone. most of the dogs that you see on the news and everywhere else arent even pitbulls they are mutts. just search on youtube for american pitbull terrier and then search for american bully. The american bully is a mutt that is mixed with soo many dogs to get that stature. the american pitbull terrier (the real pitbull) is a slim yet muscular dog. The american bully is not a recognized breed. Backyard breeeders give these dogs a bad name. Its not a pitbulls fault a unsocialized chihuahua is too small to make it over the fence to bite someone and give their breed a bad name.
“If someone raises a dog to be aggressive it will be, no matter what breed it is.” – Dr. Ilana Reisner, director of the behavior clinic at the University of Pennsylvania’s veterinary hospital.
"Most dog attacks are not because of a problem with the breed, but because of a problem with the people that handled them." – Dr. Ilana Reisner, director of the behavior clinic at the University of Pennsylvania’s veterinary hospital.
"Breed bans do not promote responsible dog ownership or actively work to protect the public – It is a smokescreen which falsely gives the impression that action has been taken to prevent dog attacks, when in reality little is being achieved." – EndangeredDogs.com (UK)
"Bad owners create dogs that are unpredictable. These dogs are not properly socialized to people, children and other animals. They are not properly trained, and they’re owned by irresponsible, ignorant people that refuse to take responsibility for their dog’s training. Because of them, Pitbulls have gone from being the all-American breed, prized for their loyalty and intelligence, to the most feared and misunderstood breed ever known." - Carroll Bou, National Ledger
"Laws which ban all dogs of a certain appearance based solely on appearance and not behavior - are a reality, a reality pit bull owners live with everyday. Imagine for a moment having a dear friend you know to be the paragon of loyalty, sweetness, patience, and good humor, constantly portrayed as "evil", unpredictable and savage, and you will begin to understand the frustration." – Diane Jessup, www.workingpitbull.com
