School Teachers
To all Teachers on Maast.
My close friend and neighbor Annette is looking for a job in a Northside district. She has gotten countless certifications and is ready to go.
I believe she is looking to teach grades 6-8. I know she has applied and now is just waiting to see what happens.
Anyone know for sure if a specific school in the Northside is hiring?
Thanks for reading.

My wife had the exact same situation. What helped her was walking into the schools with a resume in hand as well as a little unique item/card to be remembered with. What my wife ultimately had to do was get certified in special ed. That's how she was hired to get through this first year of teaching. Today was her first day. In her experience with NISD, if you're still a probationary teacher, it was tough, unless you went to the middle school level to teach math or science. Has she taught fulltime before? One school wanted to hire my wife, but then HR pulled it as they didn't want to deal with the probationary teachers regarding monitoring and training for the first year it seemed. If she's not already teaching, have her try another district, then moving her way "up" to her goal or ideal school. That's what's working for us.

great! My wife took the spec ed test only after I told her it would open doors as I remember Chris telling me at one point that was a hard position to fill/keep. She passed the test and got a interview call(literally) 5minutes after emailing her principal.

School Teachers
I work for nisd and it's hard, I have a job waiting because I've been with the district as an IA for 6 years so nisd would rather let me step into a job at the school I work at. but the prob is we had thousands of apps and only hired 400 new teachers and not too many where first year teachers. it's a bad time for teachers state takes away so much money, you would think nisd gets to keep all those property taxes but our budget is from 2006, any new taxes go to the state. if anything is done the super is talkin about job cuts next year.
