Default New tank sizes, now what Evos?!

Ok so scratch the 100g tank, its just not practical for a college student who will be moving withing the next two years. I bought a 40g RR breeder which will be strictly an LPS tank with a few softies and I also bought a Mr. Aqua 12g Long rimless which is 36"x9"x9" that will be strictly zoas only.

Ive got a mag 9.5 with a scwd for the return on the 40g and im not too sure what I'll use on the 12g yet, maybe Ill end up using that mag9.5 on it.. Please help me decide on which K. Evos to get for the tanks!!

    Thanks for the help guys

i think 3x 1050s would serve you well, or 4x 750s maybe better so still high flow but not intense in any one area. also i would utilize the wavemaker option ont he AcJr of course.... too bad its only controllable down to 1 minute...wish they woulda made it more controllable

Default How many Koralia Evo's for this tank?

I have 2x1400 in my 65g tank(36x18x24) and I get really good random flow. I tried them on my reefkeeper and I was getting chattering on start up got annoying not sure why the start up chatter, another member had them and he had no problems but I think his where the smaller evo's . if your in San Antonio your welcome to see them in action lol

Hmm Thanks for the info so far! Im leaning towards the 3x1050 and have them all 3 on random flow on the AcJr. Keep the input coming please!

on that size tank I would atleast 3 of the 1400's if not 4. it sounds like a lot of flow but it's spread out wide so it's not a direct hit of 1400gph unless you put something directly infront. mine are mounted on each corner each pointed to around center of tank one hits high other a lil lower. with a tank that long you need the extra power to keep stuff suspended and softies won't mind I keep a lil of everything with no problems

I have 4 1400's on my tank similar to yours and I have no regrets. I personally think you would regret on going smaller in your tank.Just my opinion.

I have two 1050's in my 60g cube. Works awesome. Also the chattering is from the bushing (it also make turns on in reverse). If you call Hydor they will ship you a new one for free. That is what happened to both of mine, once I installed the new one it is dead silent on my RKL on wave maker setting.
    Thanks

    I've got three evo 1400, two k4, one k3, and two seio 2600 in a 4' by 3' 190 tank.

I still grow lps and a few other softies.

I'm thinking about maybe moving my 2x 750's and then adding 2x 1400's to my new tank, which would have a total of around 4300GPH flow, which should really be more than adequate... but mine's a 52".. although, looking at the thread, maybe 4x 1400 would be a better idea ;)

I will soon be selling 4 Koralia Evo 1400s. I am getting a wavebox. With 200g, no matter how much flow there is, you still get dead spots....
