I have decided to start using a "real" camera. I have a d200 w/ nikon 18-200 DX lens. Here are a few shots I took once I started to understand the camera. Any pointers would be cool, I still have tons to learn.

I'm new to DSLR's myself. Lately, I've been trying to take closeup shots with a large aperture and leaving the shutter open longer. The winner of May's potm used this approach. The depth of that pic is awesome, so I'm trying to copy that look.

Steve those shots look good! Cory I was giving him some pointers earlier too! I truly enjoy photography as much as Reefing and if anyone needs help or has questions let me know. I never went to school for it and I am self taught. I am by no means a pro at this and I learn stuff everyday I shoot but ill do what I can to help anyone. I continuously upload my pics in my album for everyone to enjoy so check em out! I recently went to Mrsz28power's house to shoot her Reef tank and the pics came out pretty good. I learned that curved tanks are expecially hard to shoot because the curved glass distorts the light. You have to get the perfect angle.
Regric25, I found that out about curves surfaces when I tried taking some pics at Seaworld. I agree with you. It's takes practice, practice, practice to get comfortable with these things.
I wonder how much business this club has brought to Canon and Nikon? I never would have even thought about laying down this much $$$ for a camera, until I saw member's pics on this site.

Steve that pic is a COOL pic! That is my goal too! I have always said I want a micro lens to shoot the world of small.
