I think the clay egg will kill the snake. It can't pass it. Our animal control officers tell people to use golf balls that have been smeared with egg to convince snakes to eat them. They can't pass them and they eventually die because of it.

Eww. That's terrible. I don't want them around where the kids play but I wouldn't deliberately cause them a slow painful death either. The golf ball thing kind of bothers me.

That clay egg is impossible to crack and probably a real PITA to pass...
