Thread: Moonlight madness

    Default Moonlight madness

So we are trying out some new moonlights we put together and have maybe hit a snag.

The fish seemed to be freaked out by the moonlights and would not settle down for the night. It is possible this behavior goes on everynight and we just don't see it...

The tangs were out, with the powder blue harrassingeveryone, especially the long nose butterfly and the PJ Cardinal. The hippo kept moving between sleeping caves and the yellow and purple were also out and moving around.

The yellow watchman was out swimming at the top of the tank and the basket star fish closed up.

It really seemed like it agitated everyone. Once again it is possible that this goes on everynight.

Has anyone experienced this sort of thing when first using moon lights? We are going to try again this evening and see if we can't get them used to them...

We like the effect of the new lights, so hopefully this works. Thoughts?

I never noticed any changes once I added the moonlights but my tank is pretty chilled out day or night. No tangs... what can I say ...lol
Maybe they're just too bright and like overtired toddlers the fish get kind of cranky due to the neverending day?

The new moonlights are super blue LED and make the tank look really beautiful. Several fish seemed a little agitated but the powder blue tang was an absolute TERROR... so Mike says, "maybe in this light every fish looks blue to him!" (since he has a history of being obnoxious to newcomers who are similarly colored.)
