the best lighting company ive found! highly recommended
i was going to get my lights from this company called fishneedit.com but read the reviews and werent that great, while i was reading the reviews, i came upn this company www.catalinaaquarium.com wich honestly is who i am going to go with, they explain what reflectors they use and what they use for the lighting, wich pretty much lets you know that they are good lights, spoke to the gentlemen today, he was very professional and easy going about everything he is going to make me a 72" light fixture, with 3MHL 250W each and four T5's for morning and evening lights and also the moonlights on there all for 800 dollars, if you tell me for the quality of the lighting they have i think thats an amazing price, they can also make custom LED lights and everyhting at very affordable prices, i highy recommend them check them out

I had a Catalina lighting fixture!
I don't like the way the end caps are and they seemed to burn bulbs out faster than my ATI fixture but of course the ATI is much more expensive.
It's a little bit of a you get what you pay for deal. Nice customer service though and decent lights for the price. Not the best by far but it worked oaky for me starting out until I could upgrade to a better fixture.

I like buying my equipment from www.Hellolights.com if I need to order online. Youd be surprised at what our sponsors here in town can provide though. Even if they do not normally sotck a item they still may be able to get what you want.
Also remember shipping on these items can be pricey due to the fragile bulbs and equipments. Its usually cheaper to buy locally in the long run.

well i was going to go ahead and order from aquarium designs wich i love to go to, but honestly jason is a good friend and very professional, but everything is highly priced in that store, right now some things came up to where i actually have to watch how much i spend, usually i dont have to worry about the price but from time to time you always have little problems come up that stop you from enjoying what you love to do, and unfortunately when your getting a new house a lot of expenses come with the house that need to be done i was looking for name brand fixtures but they all were over 1000 dollars, i need one of those combo fixtures With the MHL at 250W need a combo with 3 of those and either 4 or 6 T5HO's for my morning and evening lights, so please! gentlemen and ladies as well if you guys can help my find one of those fixtures that comes up to under 1000 i would greatly appreciate it, and BTW i dont mean something that cost 9,950 dollars because in the end with tax and everything it does cost over 1000
this forum has been great so far so i dont doubt youall will try to help my find a fixture at a good price, thanks everyone Europhylia thanks for the advice i guess they forgot to mention that to me lol

Just a question "why not a canopy"? I tried a MH pendant fixture once and I got tired of the wife complaining about all the light in the living room, built a canopy and the complaints stopped. Just a thought?
