Acan Anonymous....Ok I know I need a membership, how about you? I thought this would be a good place to talk anything and everything acan's. Feeding, fragging, etc. The more pics the better

Where are your pics at. Great topic. Easy to reference back to when I get my tank going. Can you list what lights you have and flow. Placement in tank and feeding routine will help a lot.

I'm running a 6x39 t5, most acans are placed on bottom. Some color up better under more direct light, so some are up higher on the rocks. Thats the fun part, moving them around and watching the color change. For now I feed a mix of coral frenzy, mysis, rotifers, prawn eggs, etc. I plan to order some FM lps food very soon. Acan's seem to do fine in almost any flow. I use a wavebox, so they are always waving around in the current.

Are they fast growers.

In my opinion, yes and no. If you feed them good I think they grow fast. Not like some zoa's/paly's but still pretty fast. I have had a few frags put on 4-5 new polyps within a few months.

I like your shots dude, some really clear photos, and happy 'cans.

I feed mine a super blended mix of krill/scallops/mysis/blood worms. I do it about twice a week and they seem pretty happy during the day. I would have answered Ruben's question a bit differently. I don't ever see them growing, but I'll turn around and where I had three I've got twelve. It's really easy to see the growth when they get fat and happy.
