Ruben,
Have you read that article a few months ago in that free circular? They used acrylic rods for flag plugs, they use a little cut off section from those little hoses to provide a lip for the plug to rest on the rack. The acrylic provides little texture for cyano and algae to cling to and allows water to flow by much easier.
I plan on trying this out as soon as I get my frag tank up and running. The author said that sps coral (really the only one suited for this kind of plug) encrusts to the plug really good and fast.

Saw that one. But think it will only work for stiks. Wanted something with a lil more surface area. Im wanting small tank that will b chalice and acan dominant tank. Want to be able to place frags on rock with the tees. I liked that article and its what gave me idea for the golf tees. I just don't like those huge frag plugs.

ceramics
I've seen ceramic frag plugs, mostly always round. What if one had the means to make any shape and size ceramic plugs? Tee shape would be easy.
