Default Hi all newby to Texas

    Hi all~

Just moved to Cibolo from Colorado Springs, Co. Been in and out of the hobby about 15 years or so. Most recently got into the nano side with an old eclipse tank that I had.

Custom modded ran a mini sump/fuge and about 115 watts of PC lights on it. Full custom cabinet blah blah ya know the deal.

It was an awesome tank but the movers decided they needed to punch the fittings out of the back and spider the holes. So im moving to a 60 gallon here in the next few hours lol.

Few shots of the old tank
ACTUALLY that will have to wait to as i had to replace my laptop with a mac and have NO IDEA how to get the coding on my pictures lol.

Im a glutton for GSP and Kenyas and the other "weed" corals. So if anyone wants to ofload some im in.

Hope to enjoy the site with yall and be able to share pics and items as well.

    Thanks for the great place!

    Chris

    Welcome dude, military right?

Hey, I've got some of the same stuff everyone is offering, and if you really got a penchent for weeds I have a plethora of proto palies and some fairly nice Yellow Polyps that grow pretty good and fast. Really good action with water current.

Additionnaly, not so much a weed but I can break you off a bit of that kit... oops, wrong commercial... I can break you off a head or three of candy cane (trumpets) which grow really good and really fast. Also can get you a green hairy mushroom. Grow really well, and will even move a little on you.

Need some Chaeto? You can probably get a sampling from just about anyone on this list.

Welcome. Hope you enjoy this Texas heat as I am originally from Colorado (Denver).

As you can see, we have a great community here. Many people are willing to help. Be sure to come out to a meeting or gathering, it is always fun to talk shop...

Hey thanks for the warm welcome all. I think this will be a great site where and when are the meetings? I really appreciate all the offers and will definitely take ya up on them once we are cycled and stable. I actually need some plumbing help and will post some pics this evening if I can figure out this computer.

My wife is active duty and I was DOD now work from home restoring cars and guitars as well as take care of my little one full time. I also do some tournament fishing now and again so if anyone wants to go bassin hit me up.

I snagged a 62 glass and a 20L sump but the glass 62 isnt drilled and im kinda debating on doing hanging boxes rather than having it drilled. What I need help with is that decision and then creating a flow rate that works with the system.

With my modded tank before I ran valves on both ends and just repeatedly adjusted till I got it right. Havent ever done anything this scale so I could sure use some pointers.

Also anyone know where to find a decent cabinet stand? I may work with this one I have here but would rather a nice one for the new house, and I have no access to my tools as of yet to build one lol

Thanks again and look forward to chatting!

Welcome to Maast and Texas! Here is the link where you can find all the info you need on events. http://www.maast.org/forumdisplay.ph...-Announcements. What did you do as DOD? I worked at Lackland AFB for 3.5 years as a civilian contracter with SF. I too work at home and take care of my little one full time. My wife is not in the military though.

Bass fishing would be fun! We should go one day.

As for drilling your tank I know you can get it drilled at Reefs2U. I have a 100 gallon tank that is 48 x 24 x 20tall and I am running about 750 gph. It has pretty good flow but I am also using Koralias to add to it. I know you can get a stand at a fair price from just about any LFS in SA. Just check out the sponsors section in the main Forum or check out the for sale section people are always posting good stuff on there.
