250w 12k Reflux bulb

I just installed this and it looks really blue....anyone have any pictures of what yours looks like? Is this typical of this bulb? So far I am not really impressed. Any ideas?

Let it break in a bit. I purchased a Reflux 10k and although I did not like the coloration of the bulb in the tank (awfully yellow), it did its purpose and I saw pretty good growth in the tank. I think the 12k will provide a good growth rate of your photosynthetic corals. You could always supplement it with some actinics.

I run 12k not its too blue to me, also the reason I run it s because I don't run any supplement just the reeflux bulb, good growth also. how long has this bulb broken in for.

Not sure how thats gonna help LOL. However I do know that it takes me a while to get used to my lighting when i change out the bulbs. Also I have heard that those 12K bulbs are more like 14Ks or so idk just something I have heard but dont have a source for LOL

Ha ha ha ha....yeah you're right....i was thinking about my set up and the 10k looking yellow....Good catch Aggie.

Thanks everyone for the responses! The bulb is brand new out of the box. I will give it a couple of weeks to break in to see if I like it or not.
