Has anybody used this to remove phosphates and silicates? I have no realistic way of getting on RO water up here that I can think of and the brown diatom algae is killin me. My fighting conch keeps my sand bed perfectly cleaned, but that just leaves my frag rack to gather it. So does anybody have any experience with this product or another one for this reason? I was thinking of using this in a few manners.
-The first being to place a bag of it in my filter after my carbon pack.
-The second would be to take a Brita or other like water filter, remove the carbon from their filter and then put the phoszorb in there and run the tap water through there before placing it into my ATO tank.
-The last would be to make a pvc add on to my ATO pump. basically a 6 inch extention that fits onto the intake and is capped on the end, with small holes drilled throughout it wrapped in a fine mesh. then a 2 inch ID PVC around this with the phoszorb in between the two PVC pipes. A little more initial work but might pay off? maybe? Any thoughts?
