    Default Wierd Jelly??

    I made a batch of saltwater five days ago, and forgot about it now it has a wierd jelly substance growing in it...what is it?

    It's a clear slime, very gooey

    i would throw it out. we had a member a couple of years ago that got something like you described in his tank and battled to get rid of it for months - eventually he had to tear down the tank. this may or may not be the same thing, but i wouldnt take the chance. if it were me, i would dump it and clean the bucket very well - heck i would probably stop using the bucket for my tank as well.

    another vote for throw it out. You'll save maybe 5 bucks worth of salt mix if you use it but risk losing a WHOLE LOT more.

    +1 on throwing it away....what salt are you using? so I won't buy it...
