Dont take this the wrong way, but you are a novice and Octos are hard enough for a Expert to keep. Plus although they are cool, why keep a animal with such a short lifespan. Their are so many other cool fish out there.

You dont want to fall into the catagory of buying things just because you think they are cool or pretty. Sets yourself up for failure or heartache everytime.

You can tell by his own thread responses that he's not even listening. With the "bump" and such. Best of luck with the Octo, seems either way you are dead set on it regardless of the experience advice the established members and sponsors give. There's no need to bump a thread yourself the same day after it's already being "bumped" by posts....wow....

+1, I like how his established tank appears to be "established" since mid march....sigh.

You know the bad part is that yeah he is dead set on one but .. from the sounds of it and not trying to make another sponsor or non sponsor store look bad but someone is willing to order him one !! That is the problem instead of waiting and trying to get a good one from Brad (GCR) another store is willing to get whatever one is on a list that fits into the budget..One of many things wrong with this hobby!!

You can find them online for about $300 is what I found when I typed it in google. Also recommends the small ones for a 75 gal min. Keep ammonia and nitrate at zero and allow the nitrate to rise no higher than 5 ppm. The closer the nitrate is to zero, the better. The salinity should be around 1.025. And should have water changes done daily (25%) with feedings 2-4 times a day. That's just from the first page I googled. I love google. So much info. Good luck with the octo though.
