Ah, ok. I was afraid to glue them, I wasn't sure if it would mess up their secretions. But if the point of those secretions is to adhere to something, should be okay, right?
Glad to hear yours are still doing ok after gluing, I'll give it a try tonight. I'm really tired of always having some little mesh trap marring the view of the tank.

As for the barnacles, some of them attach right away (within 24hrs) while others seemed to have no inclination to do so. I think a small amount of adhesive on the base would be fine.

Exactly. They are crustaceans just like shrimp and crabs and therefore must molt their exoskeleton to allow them to grow!a grey version of the barnacle feelers was hanging out of the barnacle. Then I realized it was still feeding with a nice dark version of feelers.
Apparently they shed the skin of the feelers much like shrimp shed their skin.
Obviously, if yours is molting then they should be growing and thus feeding well. Nice!
