As many know on here ive had a lot of aquariums my 6years in the hobby. I too get bored very easily. My wife and I counted one night that ive had 15 diffrent aquarium since we have been married everything from freshwater piranhas to my current reef.

Ive found that if I keep it as simple as possible where I do not have to constantly tweak things and spend money I stay interested.

An urchin is never a bad thing! Urchin's are awesome. The great stuff foam however ...not so great.

I am so sorry that you are struggling with your tank situation right now! Just knowing that you are so down about it is really bumming me out!

I agree with txg8gxp and justahobby when they say that this is a chance to change things up a bit, try some new stuff, change all of the "I wish I had..." or "the next time I will..." things about your old tank. I know you have a vision for this setup and I would love to see it through. Like I always tell you, we are just down the road and if there is anything we can do we would be happy to help!

Appreciate the responses everyone. I guess it is all adding up. I had a frustrating day and it used to cheer me up to do maintenance on the tanks or sit dumb founded in front of them for an hour or so. I can't do that right now since the 90g is empty and the Finnex is more frustrating to deal with than it is worth. I have plenty other hobbies - golf, fishing, family, and work (yes, I love my job that much) - it is just none are as frustrating to me right now. I will be taking a step back and reevaluating the situation. I know where I want my 90g to be and it is just going to take time to get there again.

Karin, the urchin was awesome until ate the foam. LOL! and if you read my thread in the nano section you will see my frustration with the Finnex - I feel I wasted my money on that tank. I do have another plan for it though and it will hopefully happen soon.

Thanks again for the replies and hopefully others will chime in. I know I am not the only one in this situation right now.

Get rid of the Finnex and get out the hobby for a while. There's no sense having an uninspired tank. It affects you and the health of the system if you're not that into it.

Then the bug will bite you after a while and you get to do the funnest thing in the hobby...plan and set up a new tank. And yeah, come back with something different to keep the excitement and enthusiasm up.

    Best of luck to you!
