    Question Removing Corals from Plugs/Bases

With all the talk about SPS lately I was wondering if anyone has a favorite method of breaking their colonies or frags off of the sometimes ginormous bases they come in on. I've got about 3 that are just WAY to big to fit in my rockwork without looking ridiculous. Helpful hints definately appreciated.

I use a tablesaw, or a chisel and hammer.

If they haven't encrusted much/yet, they should snap off easily enough. Or were you looking for a tidier method?

some good stainless coral nippers (bone cutters) work well. a tile saw works too if you have one.

^^^ Got to quarantine them for me after surgery just to be safe right Byrd? LOL

I think these particular colonies are going to have a meeting with a chisel to get things hammered out.
