If its the smaller size SCWD, I'm told that the failure rate is lower than the larger sized SCWD. Failure typically just means the internal gearing is gunked up, and it has to be removed/disassembled/cleaned/reinstalled... I'm told (by a friend in the maintenance world) that he has many customers that have both sizes -- the larger ones tend to need major breakdown once every 2-4 weeks, with the smaller ones going more like 3-4 months. The worst that could happen is you decide it doesn't work for you and you remove it down the line -- I say go for it
