    Default Stand Structure Question

Okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk so yeah. It's been awhile since I got my 110 custom DSA pentagonal tank.

It has five sides, and looks like the outer rim of the superman emblem.

    My question is.....

Will 3/4" Plywood all the way around the tank's base be structurally strong enough to support the weight of the tank?

    what about 1/2"?

I ask this because the trim on the base of the tank sits lower than the actual glass. This means that no glass on any tank actually sits on anything. It just sits on the trim. Well, if all the weight is there, isn't that how I should support it?

I do not think I will need anything else to support it, just wanted more verification. 1/2" is also cheaper....

Y'all let me know what you all think.

in theory 1/2" will be fine, but personally, i would not trust it.

i would at least have a frame for the top and bottom as well as some vertical bracing. make sure the grain of the plywood runs vertically for the most strength.

The reason I think 1/2 would work is because there are so many corners. What size wood to use for the bracing?

Im with ace i would over build it. 2X4 framing. I would hate to see what happens if you used only 1/2 in Plywood to hold it and it didn't.

I know the 3/4 would hold it thats what my stand is made up of. But if i had to reset up my tank agian i would build a beefer stand. I don't really trust it.
