Default Good bye guys, I WITHDRAW MY MEMBERSHIP

I want to sincerely thank all of you wonderful members for all of the good times, great conversations and business that I have been able to enjoy with you all over the past year.

I have decided to withdraw my membership from MAAST due to the fact that I cannot freely enjoy the fun and friendship without always thinking about conflict of interest due to my incredible friendship and relationship with the OWNERS of GC Reef...when I was in the biggest rut of my life after losing my job, I found tons of fun and time to free my mind and stress volunteering at GC Reef...never received a paycheck but got some great deals. That pivotal time and the resulting perception has made me unable to ever toast the good business and such at GC Reef, and my father always taught me that when someone treats you right, the best thing you can do is sing their praise!!!!! Here, that gets you tainted in tar and feathers.

I am sorry for the distraction I caused, and for things becoming a big deal, I just felt I was misread and felt I was unfairly censored, and I will always fight for what I believe in and what I think is right.

I really do deeply love all of you guys and I wish you the best, you know where you can find me most weekends, so please dont be a stranger. Thank you all for all the mentorship, insights and good times!

    All the Best,

I'm so p&$!? off that a great person with a passion and over all great personality has been treated this way for such a minor thing. I think everyone here knows I do alot of shopping and hanging out at gabes. sometimes people just click and you form a friendship with a lfs, and being a good friend and singing praise of your friends shop shouldn't be an issue, mike never hid his realationship with gc reef, so what's the deal. I'm really don't understand why opionions are so regulated here.

Hey, I don't know you and certainly don't preach to people. It's your choice but withdrawing is not standing for what you believe in.

His posts were edited when they were off topic and or in the wrong forum... he didn't even receive a formal warning or "point". So, I'm not sure what way you think he was treated, but I can assure you he was not abused.

This has been covered in the other thread.

i just think there is "over moderating" sometimes, its just an opinion so who is it really hurting.if you dont like it then dont read it just ignore it. i dont know it sucks haveing to censor or be scared to post in fear of getting edited.

Please do not blame MAAST, the mods or the BOD for your decision to leave. We would rather see you stay. The decision to leave was made by you and only you.

You were not censored as you have many various posts regarding GCReef on our forums that have not been deleted. Your thread was moderated for content because it was in the wrong forum.

This may seem bitter sweet to you but...

I'm not sure that there is anything we could say at this point to please you but I wish you would reconsider you decision to leave.

If you mistakenly post in the wrong forum, it really is not a big deal...unless you make it one. I'm sorry if that seems harsh. If a post is reported, we evaluate it and act accordingly. If it is your post, you get a notice of the adjustment sent to you via PM. It is then your choice if you want to repost it in the appropriate forum IF that post is not impeding to your fellow members. Sound simple? It is. We are striving to make this an even better, educational place. What if your post answers someone's question but they can't find it under the search function because it is in the wrong place?

We are trying to do just that. I think as a moderating crew we let several things go, but when we get reported posts (which anyone can report a post) we have to look at it and apply the rules as they are written to the situation at hand. I for one feel bad that Michael has chosen to leave. His enthusiasm and appeal for the hobby will be missed. It has been said time and time again that he can post any and all of his experiences in the GCReef forum. That is all that was asked.
