    Question Magnets?

So I just picked up some magnets from HD to glue some eggcrate to, to make a frag rack that can move up and down. Question is do the magnets need to be coated with anything or are they fine as is. I know i saw what looked like just magnets on someones rack but im unsure.

a lot of people use the glass cleaner magnets since they are all wrapped up but after taking one apart it was all rusted inside of it ....

Unless they are enamel or epoxy coated they are going to rust. AlNiCo is an exception but yours are probably neodymium or ferrite. I guess you could coat them in wax if you are worried about corrosion but durability would leave alot to be desired. Possibly fiberglass resin from napa or autozone would probably work, this stuff smells to high heaven though and might be toxic for a while during curing.

I got the same ones you are talking about and took clear packing tape and Wrapped each one to keep it from rusting. I have been using it for a few months and there is no rust.

Here you go, I know we had spoken about this back a while back on the KC forum from when I lived up there.
