We are planning a trip to Austin soon. Our goal is to find a new place to bbq and swim. We usually go to Jacob's creek at Canyon Lake or Bandera park. Do you all have any recommendations on where to go?

You can go to Hippie Hollow if you want to swim without clothing. Or drive past there, and go to Bob Wentz/Windy Point park. Make sure you turn into the public park and not the private one.
Personally, I like Barton Springs or Deep Eddy pool, but cannot bbq at those.

My parents accidentally took us into Hippie Hollow when I was a kid. We just thought it was a regular park until a naked guy said hello. Too funny, we ran out of there. I think I will wait until warmer weather to try Barton springs. I've heard lots of good things about it. Never heard of Deep Eddy pool.
