Default Pacific Cyclone impacts: Fiji & Australia

We had originally planned on being in Fiji this week. Glad we weren't, but 14 of our friends ARE!

Tomas impacted Fiji very hard, hitting the eastern islands as a Cat 4. Ului was a Cat 5, and is expected to come ashore on Australia's Great Barrier Reef as a Cat 1 or TS. Both of these storms will have an impact on certain livestock in the hobby.

Oh wow, had completely missed this. Thanks for the head's up, Bill. Terrible news.

    Hope your friends are ok.

Glad we bailed out in December - and only lost a nominal deposit.

Soon enough Jan will be retired and you guys can go on all the cruises you want!

Mike and i were on a Caribbean cruise out of Galveston when Hurricane Rita hit. They decided that it was not safe to go back into the Gulf of Mexico for a couple of days, so we had to hang out a little longer in Playa del Carmen and go back for one additional day in Cozumel before we could head back home. We were totally safe the whole time, as of course the ship people were keeping a close eye on the conditions, and it just altered our course a bit. We got a couple of extra days of cruising for no additional charge. People were freaking out though, because so many of them were from the Houston / Galveston area and very concerned about their homes. And then other people had the nerve to complain that we had a couple of repeat menu items from the first days of the cruise... idiots!

Well, I guess I'm dumb. The food we had on our Princess cruise in Alaska wasn't as good as Luby's. Not even close. Massive quantities? Yes. Good, not really...

Sorry on your cruise. You should try French Polynesia instead.
